Metro’s Story:

Metro Liquor owns and operates liquor stores in BC, with the goal of providing astute BC drinkers with the cool products that they love. They are seeking a Store Manager for their Brentwood Bay, Vancouver Island store. This is a hands-on position requiring a balance of retail floor activities, office work and close communication with warehousing and retail operations.

The Opportunity: Store Manager

On any given day, you will be:

  • Delighting customers with your beverage knowledge, excellent staff, and cool displays,
  • Completing the boring paperwork (with panache and a smile),
  • Planning and hosting store events to engage the beverage community, and
  • Selling, cashiering, and stocking shelves.

Managing what they sell, from ordering products to fit customer demand and interests, monitoring inventory, merchandising, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies are key responsibilities as well.

This is a full-time position requiring a committed manager who can work varied shifts five days per week (to connect with the community and team members) including some evenings and weekends.

Metro’s future Store Manager must have at least 3 years in retail management and be a people person with strong communication and organizational skills and a positive, respectful, energetic, “get-it-done-now” attitude. This position requires someone who likes a varied day, easily shifts from computer work to being actively on the floor, lifting and moving product, cashiering, and interacting with customers, sales reps, and team members.
