Reception/Administrative Assistant

Job description

We are currently seeking a proficient Receptionist/Administrative Assistant who will be the first point of contact for our families in person and on the phone. This position accurately maintains the appointment schedule, directs calls and web-based messages, and provides administrative support to our Funeral Directors and team members. The Receptionist/Administrative Assistant delivers a high level of professionalism and service for which Springfield Funeral Home is known throughout the Okanagan Valley.

The ideal candidate has the following skills and attributes:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a professional, comparable organization
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; typing speed of 40-65 wpm
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Warm welcoming personality and phone manner
  • Impeccable communication and active listening skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Commitment to always presenting themselves in a professional manner
  • Conservative business attire is required
  • Strong organizational skills including prioritization and effective time management
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment while prioritizing requests
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience with Adobe, Photoshop and Illustrator is an asset
  • A genuine desire to serve those in need
