The Overhead Door Co of Vancouver is seeking a Human Resources Advisor to fill a 12-month temporary contract. This position is part time (approximately 20 hours per week) and will be working remotely although expected to do onsite visits from time to time at our Coquitlam office.

We are a busy, growing and professional company in a fast-paced industry. You will support the management team and be their go-to resource for all things HR. Duties include advising and coaching, educating on best practices and people policies, preparing and processing employee documentation, maintaining employee files (paper & electronic), and providing administrative and coordination support on a variety of HR functions and activities such as performance reviews, recruitment, compensation, etc. You will also be called upon to answer employee questions, be the first point of contact on employee concerns, and of course, seek out solutions for their challenges.

The successful candidate must have a degree in a related field along with 4 or more years of progressive HR experience. A CHRP designation is considered an asset. Excellent organization skills including the ability to multitask and handle competing priorities are a necessity to effectively support our team. And as with most professional HR roles, you must also be an effective communicator, a people person, and have the ability to sensitively and carefully handle confidential information. Because this role is the sole HR practitioner for our organization and working remotely, the chosen candidate will also be self-motivated, resourceful and able to work without direct supervision.
