YMCA Southern Interior BC is a charitable association dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. YMCA programs provide experiences to over 30,000 individuals annually in the areas of health, fitness & recreation, childcare, day camping, employment and community health. With a current annual operating budget of $20 million, the association employs 400+ individuals and has 150+ volunteers.
YMCA Southern Interior BC is based in the heart of the Okanagan Valley in Kelowna, BC. With an area population of 180,000, the area is located on the edge of Lake Okanagan and is renowned for its spectacular lake and mountain setting, vineyards, and range of recreational opportunities, such as skiing, hiking, sailing, and beaches. Kelowna weather offers hot, dry summers and mild winters.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the CFO serves as an essential partner and strategic advisor, playing a key role in collaboratively shaping the long-term financial strategy to support the growth, evolution and success of YMCA of Southern Interior BC.
In addition to leading a small but mighty team, the CFO is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and oversight of the Y’s financial well-being including financial analysis, projections, budgeting, investments, asset management, capital projects, insurance, enterprise risk management/compliance, information technology management, process improvement, policy development and business planning.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a CPA with a strong financial management background, 6+ years experience leading a financial services team, and recent not-for-profit (NFP) experience, including generating NFP financial reporting, analyzing financials, and working with a Board and Committees.
This role requires a tech-savvy individual with superior communication skills, outstanding relationship building abilities, as well as strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
